![]() Sorry that it's not on flickr, but it was taken by a friend of mine, so I don't want to put it into my photostream. Here is a nice sample photo processed with easyHDR (out of 3 bracketed shots). In this example I used the "grunge" preset in Photomatix, because it's quite strong and nicely creates the effect that I wanted to show to you. See where leads you dynamic range compression in the gradient domain (strange shading effects around power lines): Well, as every TMO it aims at compressing the global contrast while preserving the local contrast :-) I can just tell you that it does not work in the gradient domain as Fattal does. If I started to develop this software now from scratch, then I would have made it multi-platform, no question about it. But as I wrote already there is only a Windows version because of the decisions that were made long ago. How does it compare say to the Fattal algorithm used in Photomatix? I'm interested in the mechanics of your TMO. Sorry I was not meant to be polemic, and I'm not thinking to use your software i'm perfectly happy with the software i'm usign at the moment, my post was only on general lines. Personally i think that this kind of toughts that contribuite to an immeritate and absolutely overrated consideration for Windows. there are a lot of commercial applications for linux. I think that making a commercial application ofr a freeware OS is not pointless, who use linux use it only only because is free, but because is better and more reliable than Windows. But I don't say that I won't ever port to Mac, this however requires rewriting the whole GUI. This is the result of some decisions made years ago that are very difficult to change now. Here I agree, but unfortunately I cannot satisfy everybody. I don't see a point in making a commercial application for a freeware operating system. Why should I use someone's else if mine is better? I have developed my own Tone Mapping Operator. Here is the website, where you can find easyHDR:Ī sample photo (no further post processing. I'd really like to see what's your opinion about the new tone mapping and the overall program usage and performance. The tone mapping algorithm was completely redesigned and I guess you'll like it. I'd like to let you know that a couple of days ago I released a new major version of (I hope) already known easyHDR PRO software.
